The occupational therapist assists those
who are afflicted with actual or potential physical or biopsychosocial
dysfunctions. The primary goal of the occupational therapist
is to provide treatment and assistance to the clients so that
they may gain independence. A wide range of assistance is
provided in such activities as in daily living, social, occupational,
rehabilitative and in leisure activities.
The graduates from the Department are expected to work in
many different areas that include acute or chronic units,
health care institutions, home care, and community. In order
to be able to deal with a variety of clinical situations,
the students are expected to acquire skills in problem solving
and critical thinking based on scientific principles, coupled
with creativity and flexibility.
